How We Work?
We are not just a program—we are a movement rooted in legacy, dignity, and service. We operate with intentionality, cultural pride, and a deep respect for the lived experiences of our youth, elders, and caregivers.
🔹 We Build Tribe
We believe in intergenerational connection. Youth are not just participants—they are leaders, caregivers, and culture bearers. Elders are not just recipients—they are wisdom keepers and community anchors. Every interaction is a chance to build trust, pride, and belonging.
🔹 We Serve with Purpose
Our work is hands-on, heart-led, and community-centered. From sweeping porches to leading workshops, every task is an act of service. We track care credits not just to reward effort, but to honor impact.
🔹 We Operate with Structure
Our systems are clear, consistent, and replicable:
• Youth are selected through a $1 lottery entry system
• Weekly sessions follow a structured curriculum rooted in life skills and cultural affirmation
• Errands for elders are assigned, tracked, and verified
• Milestones are celebrated through incentives and storytelling
• Incidents are handled with care, documentation, and restorative practice
🔹 We Lead with Culture
Our branding, language, and rituals reflect Black excellence and Afrocentric values. We chant, we reflect, we celebrate. We honor our Nana legacies and our porch-to-porch traditions.
🔹 We Grow Together
Staff are trained in trauma-informed care, cultural competency, and operational excellence. Youth are mentored, supported, and recognized. Elders are engaged, respected, and uplifted. We evaluate our impact not just in numbers—but in stories, smiles, and shifts.
This is how we work. With pride. With structure. With soul.
Because tribe isn’t just who we serve—it’s how we serve.
Pilot Program Launch:
We’re launching our first youth cohort—and we’re inviting 12 youth ages 12–19 to lead the way. Through volunteer service, training, and mentorship, youth will gain life skills, workforce readiness, and the opportunity to earn care credits that support their families.
$1 Lottery Entry
Due to high interest, we’re using a $1 lottery system to select our first 12 youth.
$1 = 1 entry
Youth may enter multiple times
All youth must volunteer before employment consideration
Every hour volunteered = 1 hour of care credit for their family
We would love your feedback!
